No Texting in Michigan

Finally, we join other states that have banned texting while driving. Our Governor, Jennifer Granholm, will be on the Oprah show today, Friday, April 30th, to sign the law which will go into effect on July 1st. The fine will be $100 for the first offense and $200 for the second offense. No points will be added to the driving record. Not strict enough in my opinion but a start since some people don't seem to have any common sense of their own. Next, let's ban the use of cell phones while driving in cars altogether!

Congrats to Michigan. I hope it makes a big difference in accidents and attentiveness.

I just got into an argument with my husband yesterday about texting and emailing while driving. I just want to take his blackberry and chuck it out the window. I don't allow him to use it while I am in the car, not much I can do when I am not there. argh.
