Something's Coming, Something Good

Could be...
Who knows...
There's something due, any day
I will know, right away
Soon as it shows.

It may come cannonballing down through the sky
Gleam in its eye, bright as a rose.

Who knows?

It's only just out of reach
Down the block, on a beach
Under a tree -
I got a feeling there's a miracle due
Gonna come true, comin' to me...

Could it be, yes it could
Something's comin', something good
If I can wait.
Something's comin'
I don't know what is
But it is gonna be great.

It's only just out of reach
Down the block, on a beach
Maybe tonight...
Maybe tonight...
Maybe...tonight....

Maybe next week !!!!!

It's Everywhere, It's Everywhere!

What's this? It's poison ivy and this year it's everywhere.

After getting poison ivy on my arms, in the exact spot where it would touch my forearms as I reached down to pull weeds, I went on a search to see if I could figure out where I got it. To my horror I found it everywhere in my yard. It's never been there before that I know of. This is the first time in my life that I have been affected with the rash so I had to research it on the Internet to find out what it looks like.
For these small plants, I use a plastic bag, grab it from the bottom, turn the bag inside out, and then pull the poison ivy into the bag. Then it's straight to the trash barrel.

But look at this!!! I'm not sure the best way to get this out. It's wedged in with my vinca, mint, and Japanese Maple, so I can't spray it.

I guess I have no choice but to wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and gloves. After pulling it out, I'll have to go directly to the washer and wash all of my clothing in hot water. Not my idea of a fun gardening day, for sure.

There are several forms of poison ivy, but always look for three leaves and the red colored stemmed. This particular variey does not climb, but is a ground ivy.

Daylily Peak

It's my first post for Outdoor Wednesday! See Sidebar to take part.

My daylilies are at peak! I tried so hard to distance myself from them because I know soon this garden will belong to someone else. It's impossible not to love them and baby them as I have for years. The garden is gorgeous even after dividing every plant that I could and transplanting them to a new location. And now, they are blooming their little hearts out (do daylilies have hearts? In my estimation, they sure do!)

The following pictures are four that I did not post last year because I planted them after blooming season. Two I saw in the daylily field where I bought them, and two my friend Lamb gave to me. This is their first blooming in my garden.
