Painting

Last year I took a poll as to whether or not I should paint my garage. The majority of you voted with me to keep the rustic look. My husband has been wanting to paint it for years, but I held back because I liked the way the peeling paint complimented my garden features.
Well, since the house is up for sale, we have come to realize that not everyone shares the same opinion about gardening and the weathered look. The plants around the garage wall are about ready to go into hibernation, so the time is right. The awful job of scraping has been completed and it looks like the weather is cooperating. Today the garage is getting a fresh coat of white. What do you think?

You are right, if it's for sale, it should be painted. Although.... I remember we treated our fence before selling our Kansas City house. People who bought it took down the fence. Ha!

I've watched enough HGTV to know that when you put your house on the market, you make things look as new as possible, and do not make it as generic as possible. What you love, others may not. I personally like both.

When my husband and I were looking for a cupboard, we found hoosiers, and I loved the "chippy" ones, and Larry hated them. We compromised and bought one that someone had refinished. I kept the "before" photos because I liked that look better.
