Yellow Finch - Mellow Yellow Monday

I wish you could see this bag when it is full of beautiful yellow birds. They did not want to cooperate today. I guess they're a little camera shy.

I had to read that over a couple of times; I was thinking, "bag full of birds?...now why would she put birds in the bag?" :~) Never mind me. It's wonderful!

I love goldfinches. Great shot, birds are hard to shoot - they don't want to stay still long enough, Good job. I like that bird feeder - very interesting.

Nancy, You're so funny! I had not thought it would read that way at all. Now I see what you mean!
Goldfinches love hanging all over the bag to pick out the seed. Sometimes there are 5 or 6 at one time on the bag.

They are gorgeous! What type of seed are the pecking at?

Marie, The finches love thistle seed also called Niger seed. The seed is very small but it does not fall out easily from the bag. They love to sway on it in the wind and pick it out through the netting.

The golden finches are so fragile looking but they obviously hold their own on a swaying bag! Our trees are too thick for their taste, but I enjoy them over by my m-in-law's home where there's lots of clear space.

The finches are so beautiful and their song is wonderful. I hear mine outside my window as I write this. They come to start my day each morning!

I love those sweet little birds. I had a bag up, but they didn't take to it like I thought they would. I've had plenty of birds in my yard this spring though!
