Can You Fool Mother Nature?

I love my peonies. Every year I have to hurry up and tie them up in dark skies and winds because a storm is just around the corner. It seems inevitable that the delicate flowers will be beaten into the ground.
This year I am ready. I tied and staked them in clear skies and nice warm temps. What? There is no sign of any wicked weather! There was a gentle rain last night but no damage was done to my beautiful blooms. Maybe the trick is to stay one step ahead of the weather and then it will run with it's tail between it's legs. A little reverse psychology. Remember the old commercial that said "You can't fool Mother Nature!" Maybe I've figured a way to do just that!!!

Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day. I hope you are able to fool Mother Nature, too!

I had to move my peonies to more sun. They are doing better now. Yours are lovely.
