Normally, here in Western Michigan, we don't get snow until Christmas Eve, almost like clockwork. This year so far we've had 55 inches of snow; our average for this time of year is 14 inches!! It's 6 degrees out! 16 below, windchill!

The road has merged in with with the yard, and we are in "whiteout" conditions. They have actually pulled the snowplows from the road because it's too dangerous for them. Several expressways are now closed, one because of a 30 car pile-up which included 14 semi trucks, and sadly one death.

The front steps have disappeared. You can barely see the ridge from yesterday's snowblowing. After a second cleaning out the edge measured over 2 feet!
They are already closing schools for Monday, even the malls are closed today! What's to happen to the last minute shoppers? Will we have Christmas?
My niece is driving north from Florida with her husband and three kids. They were excited to see snow for the first time. If they manage to get through, they will see more snow than they could ever have dreamed of. Global warming? I think not!
