A Giving Essence Giveaway

Not too long ago I told you about a new web site I had come across called The Giving Essence. Diane has started a new business this year, and she's really excited for you to learn about her product. She has sent me two of her products to try out and tell you about. I was thrilled to see that one of them was the Peppermint Stick. Diane only uses the best essential oils so just opening the bottle will start to chase away the tension of the holidays. Peppermint Stick is a roll-on in a lovely dark green frosted glass bottle, and it's just the right size for your purse. I think you'll like having this one handy when you're caught in a traffic jam or in a long line at the mall. I liked the cooling sensation it brought to my temples. Diane also sent me Bayberry Spice Essential Spray. A quick spritz in the air brings forth many layers of fragrance beginning with bayberry, followed by cinnamon and sweet orange. I gave my family room a spray and it stayed in the air for quite a while. It was also great to spray right before company walked through the back door for that fresh, wintertime aroma. I loved this one,too, Diane!

We Have a Winner!

You guys are awesome! My giveaway was a great success, thanks to all of you who entered. There were 169 comments and combined with 168 subscribers that means that there were 337 entries.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the many dates and things you have forgotten. It kept me laughing each time I checked the blog. I don't feel so bad now about forgetting my blogiversary. I have NEVER forgotten my anniversary and neither has my husband, but I won't talk about some of the others that have slipped my mind.

Now for the winner! Although I read all entries, the winner was chosen randomly.

A Trifecta Giveaway

I recently noticed that I missed my Second Blogiversary, which was in September AND a few other important numbers. At some point I passed 23,000 hits, which is unbelievable! This my 250th post, so I also missed the big 200! What was I thinking?
I think 250 is a good number too, don't you?

I've always been into round numbers, such as a 40th anniversary or a 50th birthday, but this time I have to overlook this compulsion to wait until the number is just right. Because I blew it!!! It was all my fault! I wasn't paying attention!

Veteran's Day in the USA

A Little Silliness

Today I want to have some fun and that requires a little silliness. I was thinking about how different life in the garden is today than when I was a kid. Insects were bad, all of them. We knew nothing of organic gardening and the word ecosystem had never been uttered. The food chain was not taught in schools, and respect for the earth hadn't been thought of once since the Native Americans tried to explain it to the white man, and it was promptly discarded.

I stumbled across this Mickey Mouse cartoon from 1935 called Mickey's Garden. I remember my mom and dad using those pump can sprayers. THey were filled with DDT and we didn't think anything at all about inhaling it. My husband used to play in the mist when his back yard was sprayed for mosquitoes!

I loved watching Mickey and Pluto in the garden in this video and it brought back a lot of memories, but it sure wouldn't be approved for children today.

A New Herbal Giveaway

It was just a few days ago that I pointed you to an herbal giveaway.
