A Trifecta Giveaway

I recently noticed that I missed my Second Blogiversary, which was in September AND a few other important numbers. At some point I passed 23,000 hits, which is unbelievable! This my 250th post, so I also missed the big 200! What was I thinking?
I think 250 is a good number too, don't you?

I've always been into round numbers, such as a 40th anniversary or a 50th birthday, but this time I have to overlook this compulsion to wait until the number is just right. Because I blew it!!! It was all my fault! I wasn't paying attention!

I so appreciate my readership, your loyalty, and wonderful comments. To make up for all the milestones I missed, I am hosting a Trifecta Giveaway! Three of my blogs will run a giveaway simultaneously.

Here at Thyme for Herbs, I am giving a 12-piece box of Mint scented Yankee tea light candles. Each of these candles burn for 4-6 hours with a refreshing spearmint fragrance.

After entering here, pop over to Happenstance House and
An Herbal Bedfellow to enter there. An Herbal Bedfellow is giving away a wonderful cookbook, and Happenstance House is offering an antique flow blue plate.

All you have to do here is leave a comment about the last big event you forgot. The winner will be chosen by Random.org.
Please write something more than just "birthday."
In case I am unable to contact the winner, I will then choose my favorite story.

For a second entry, blog about my giveaway, and then come back and tell me about it in a separate comment window.

For a third entry, subscribe to my blog with Feedburner and tell me about it in a separate comment window; make sure you verify your subscription! All current active members will automatically be entered.

Make sure you include your email address with the comment if it is not showing on your blog so I can contact you. If you are NOT a blogger, you must leave a contact email address or you will be disqualified.

This giveaway ends on Thursday November 20th at Noon, EST.

Don't forget to visit An Herbal Bedfellow for healthy recipes made with herbs, and also my newest blog:
Happenstance House -- A journal about my Victorian home and all of it's contents.

A couple of years ago I forgot my parents wedding anniversary. We arent big on celebrating annivesaries unless they are special ones but my sister and I normally send a card or something. Anyway I was talking to my Mum the day after (having still not remembered) and she was regayling me with how she and Dad had forgotten their anniversary! Oh no I went I forgot as well - funny thats what your sister said!! The next day I went to see them with a bunch of flowers picked from the garden onl to discover my sister had also sent a bunch of flowers (she lived on the other side of the UK at the time) - my mother's front room was rapidly turning into a florists. Neither me nor my sister has forgotten since but there is always next year!

Congrats on your second Blogiversary! 250 is a good number:)

Okay, I'll give it a shot. I almost never forget birthdays, no I usually forget appointments. The last big one was for my son to get a filling from the dentist. We were going out of town soon and it was a major problem as he was in pain and needed to go to the dentist BEFORE the vacation. Fortunately the dentist fit him in. I hate missing appointments or being late. It is becoming too frequent lately though.

Sorry it is a 'birthday' store but I like it.
Me and my husband went to South Africa to see this fantastic country and celebrate his birthday. After travelling around the countryside for a week or so we went up to Suncity to stay at a very exclusive Hotel for a few nights. On the morning on my husband’s birthday we enjoy a most wonderful hotel breakfast and afterwards when he was going to sign the bill with name and date, he pushed it over to my side…hm I thought that has odd and unusual, I said OK and asked him what date is it? Daaaaa it was so utterly embarrassing. :-) Happy Birthday Darling./ Tyra

Congrats, I am usually the person who remembers everything for everyone else but forgets things for me..I usually send cards and presents too early- but thats cool becuase they get them on time- if they have no control thats their fault. Last big event I forgot was my birthday- but thats not big to me- just another day, another page.

I'm usually pretty good about remembering the birthdays of family members & former co-workers I was really close to, but one year I fogot my sister-in-law's birthday. She's a really great person & I think she felt slighted.
Needless to say, I felt terrible!

Both of my stories involve birthdays. Every year I forget my own! My second child was born just three days before my birthday, and my wedding anniversary is nine days before. I suppose all that celebrating makes me forget that my own birthday is coming up (I also tend to forget my age, and not on purpose!)

My poor daughter (third child) was born either the day before or after her due date. Even now I cannot remember if her birthday is the 10th or 11th. It's terrible, I know.

I forgot my own anniversary last year. Thankfully, my husband found it hilarious and wasn't upset. I came home to a candlelight dinner, John Mayer CD playing, and no kids. I actually said, "Wow, baby! You'd think it was our anniversary or something!" He looked at me, snickering, and then exploded into laughter when he saw the look on my face after I realized it was indeed our anniversary.

Actually, I don't really forget events. I think the ONLY time I did was a haircut appointment that escaped me years ago. It didn't really matter, but the hairdresser just knew something had to be really wrong for me not to show up! But...this is crazy...as good as I am about remembering dates, etc., I've forgotten my daughter's middle name and could not for the life of me come up with it when asked. How can you forget your own daughter's name? LOL!!

Funny that you ask, because just last week I forgot about a friend's baby shower. I even bought a present and everything, but on the day of, I kept thinking: "I am supposed to do something today". cmnbak said...

I NEVER forget anything! At the beginning of EVERY month I transfer last years events to this year, I buy cards the first day or two of the month - every month and get emails ready to "Send Later". I hound my husband to not forget important days also and throw cards at him to sign as well. Having said all that and priding myself of never being forgetful - I actually forgot his birthday last year... I'm still hearing about it and needless to say have gotten nothing from him for our anniversary, mother's day, or my birthday - we will see about Xmas. PAYBACK - its a humorous payback, I never realized just how incessant I was over not forgetting important dates.

I have not forgotten any big event lately, or possibly ever. BUT, I wish I would have forgotten to go to my friend's baby shower.

Having never really gone to one, I had no idea what to expect. And having to wear a plastic binky on a ribbon and steal someone elses (or have mine stolen) if you said the word 'baby' or 'mom' was a bit silly and I didn't care for it. Not that I'm not silly, I just don't care for those kinds of games.

And to top it all off! I had no idea until that morning that I'd be driving 1 hour and a half each way. I thought it was on the other side of the city.

If only I'd have forgotten and apologized for being so forgetful, it would have been much better.

November 13th is my birthday ... a day I NEVER forget! But the most vivid memory of forgetting ... I attended Catholic school back in the 50s and 'forbidden' to waste food, I FORGOT and shared a piece of bread from my lunch plate with a boy who I knew came from a home, not as rich as mine. Other classmates knew he often came to school hungry so also shared theirs ... but ... the nuns found a pile of bread behind Johnny Festor's beer truck and called us all in on the 'sinful' deed. It was humilating getting spanked behind the boiler ... I FORGOT ... that children across the globe were starving and should have been more thoughtful, knowing this hungry boy was a 'troublemaker'! Memories ...

I never forget events, but I'm sometimes late :-( This year, I didn't get my brother's birthday gift mailed out in time to arrive before his birthday.

I forgot my Sister's birthday last year. It is a couple weeks before Christmas and with everything going on I forgot all about it until a few days later. I still feel bad because I'd never forgotten to call her on that day before.

Until I read this I had forgotten all about my dads birthday, I forget it alot! Its the 22nd and so close to Turkey day I always space it off! The last big think I forgot was my wedding anniversary! My husband had a nice night out planned, and I had to ask what it was for! Embarrasing!

I forget my parents' anniversary almost every year! I don't know why, I remember birthdays and all kinds of milestones, but I just cannot get the anniversary date embedded in my brain!

We took my sister out 2 days ago for her birthday and I forgot what time I said we would meet her. We showed up early and left because she was a half hour "late." A quick cell phone call turned things around, but I was embarrassed and raced back to the restaurant. kaytewatts AT aol DOT com

I notice that the contest has ended but I must tell you how much I have enjoyed the music on all three of your sites. I lingered way too long. Keep up the good work. I will be back to visit again. Thank you.

I forgot our 15th anniversary. I had geared up for it but then when it finally came, life got in the way. Of course my husband didn't remember either until a week later!

I forgot my youngest sons birthday a few years ago. We were so busy with all kinds of things and a friend happened to mention it to me the day of. I completely freaked and started running around gathering gifts, cake, and decorations. Geez!

I bought a car after previewing other cars but the dealer had to transport the car with the options I wanted up and I made an appointment to pick it up but then forgot to go to the dealer.
