These Daylilies are LATE

These daylilies may be late, but they're not too late for me. I just walked the garden with a tablet in hand. Here's what is blooming and still has buds as of August 25th, 2008:

Frills and Fancies
Purple Storm
Miracle Maid
Dublin Elaine
Daring Deception
Susan Weber
Unknown red
Lingering Loveliness
Chicago Apache
Dempsey's Red Velvet

'Late & lovely', Jane Marie. Often, last is best :)

Jane Marie, I've got several daylilies still blooming, too. Some of them just keep going and going!

Are they always this late or is this an exceptional year? Which ever the red i just beautiful and I see even more buds waiting to open.

Brenda, you really need to get daylilies. They are the best.

Nancy, because my garden area is large it doesn't look like I have a lot blooming. These are spread out, so it was wonderful when I took a closer look and realized how many were still out there.

Mary, thank you. I'm not quite ready to give up yet. It's a long time until next July when they start again.

Joey, the late ones are special. You know only too well, what winter can be here; they are predicting a cold one. I'm hoping these photos will keep me warm in January :)

Kylee, It has been fun watching them this year to see how many rebloomers I have. Some are just plain prolific -- like the Energizer Bunny -- they keep going and going.

Beckie, the last two years, I have made a special trip to the daylily gardens late in August, even though they aren't pretty then. I search for anything that still has blooms and buds, and then choose which ones I like. It certainly has paid off, because these are all the late bloomers I bought recently.

Must be lovely having so many blooming daylilies in your garden by the end of August! Keeps autumn away!

Hi Jane,
Wow ~ that is some beautiful daylily! I love the vibrant red color!! Have you been fertilizing under the cover of darkness again? :) LOL!! Really gorgeous blooms!! That herbal marinade you posted at your food blog is a must-try for me. I'm going to pick up some chicken tomorrow and that should be so delicious!!
Lots of hugs, Bebe :)

Katarina, I will do anything to keep autumn away. Finding late blooming flowers has been a priority in the last few years.

Bebe, That lovely red is Miracle Maid. I love the velvety look some of the reds have and this one is spectacular. This one is reblooming which always thrills me.
Thank you for being a regular at An Herbal Bedfellow. It means a lot to me. It's wonderful to have faithful blogging friends like you.

Hi Jane Marie,

Just catching up on my blog reading and commenting. It's been a long, busy summer and I've not had much time to visit with everyone. Your garden is gorgeous! The hibiscus are stunning, the daylilies delightful and the garden in general just lovely. I look forward to reading your other blogs.

You still have so many blooming! Miracle Maid is a beauty.
I have 4 still blooming, but 3 are almost done. Cherry Cheeks still has quite a few blooms left.
Your hibiscus are delightful!
That squirrel is determined, isn't he? :)
You certainly are blessed to have the gift of music. I can play just a little, and wish I could play well! I took lessons for a year or two when young, and then again when my 3kids were young. They learned for a while too. I love the piano!
