It's Thankful Thursday again and today I'm thankful for my names.
You probably think that's a strange one. I wasn't sure what to write this morning and then I read Brambleberries in the Rain. Cindy there has changed her name to Cynthia to avoid confusion in the blogging world. That got me to thinking about the names we are known by as we go through life.
So I am thankful for the names I've been given because they define who I am more than anythng I can write about my garden.
Besides the name my parents gave me, I am known as Mrs., Honey, Janie, Sis, Mom or Mumsie, Aunt, and Nanna.
Most of all, I'm thankful for the people in my life who use these names.

Here's another name for you: "Wonderful Blogger"!
I enjoy your blog so much, especially the photos. Besides, what's not to like about a daylily fan! :)
Have a happy Thursday, Chris
Hi, Jane Marie! One's name is a gift...a gift given us from our parents when we were born. We all have a name, each one unique! Such a nice post today...And I loved seeing your beautiful purple morning glories in your previous post! Thanks so much for stopping. I hope to back on Thursdays again in a few weeks! ((HUGS))
And another one...blogging buddy! I just found Brambleberries In The Rain last week and am enjoying her posts too!

I love that thought, and it's true names make us feel grounded and loved. Have a wonderful Thankful Thursday, and thank you for stopping by. Karen
I have a BIL who signs all his emails with all his names.:)
Thanks for visiting my blog, and for the lovely comment. You have a beautiful garden. We are in the planning stages of ours. Some days it's a little overwhelming. We hope to get some planting done this fall when the weather is a little cooler. Here in Utah the air is so dry we have to be careful. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Love your blog and will be back for a visit soon. Thanks again...Mimi Sue
You are right about our names defining who we are in a way. When I was younger I did not like my name. Now, I am so thankful for it.
This is a very thought provoking post. Thank you. I often don't realize that I am known by many names other than my legal name. Your post has really made me stop and think. I like that.
Hugs,
Cindy Sue at Rosehaven Cottage
(yes, that's my name)
I completely agree with you Jane Marie. I am thankful for all the names I can be called as well. Although I once had an aunt that thought it was funny to call me Cinderblock as her pet name for me. I personally did not care for it as a little girl!
Thank you for linking to my blog today. What a nice surprise to brighten up my rain filled week!
A most thought provoking post, Jane Marie. Indeed names do define us ... yesterday, tending my dear 'Grandboys', 'Mimi' made my heart swell (and Gramps grins 'wide as the world' when they address him). Thanks for reminding us ;)
Lovely, inspiring post Jane Marie. I'd never thought about all those names we have in quite this way before.
