That's right! The ball is over! There are still some guests hanging around and the floor is not empty by far. There are even those who thought they could arrive late and no one would notice. Or maybe they wanted to make an entrance to gain some attention and be appreciated as an individual. They certainly were, by me. I never tired of seeing newcomers.

Conrad Blasco finally arrived. I think he was just checking out the scene and looking for a last minute hook-up! Men!!

Lingering Loveliness was hit on more than once by the cad but she at least had some class and turned him down.

What's that? Frills and Fancies has decided to go home with him. I sure hope she knows what's she's doing! I worry about the girls these days.
On Friday I dropped in at another daylily ball:

South Seas came home with me to check out the scene and decided to stay. I'm thrilled! She donned her lovely tropical colors just in time for the last song.
Other new acquaintances I met on Friday: (I know, I'm shameless; I encouraged them to follow me home)
Trahlyta
Highland Lord
Monster
and a bonus -- Red Volunteer (shoot! Lamb was going to send this one my way anyway)
Well, It was a ball (literally) and I'm so glad you came to the red carpet. It was a pleasure showing my cotillion to all of you. So, until next year, this is Jane Marie at the Serendipity Garden. Good Night, Ladies, Good Night!
(If you're interested in reading all of the posts on the Serendipity Garden Cotillion, see "Labels" in the sidebar and click on Cotillion. Be sure to start with the earliest one and move forward.)

Once again some more beautiful daylily pics. Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed them all!
I think they just wanted to be fashionably late and make a grand entrance--they certainly were stunners and appreciated all the more since some of the early guests had already left.
How lucky for you to have a good friend like Lamb to share your passion for gardening, especially lilies. I know gardening has been so much more enjoyable for me sharing it with my best friend Beckie.
A while ago you asked me about 'Bela Lugosi' and I can say that it was not a disappointment in my garden. I can highly recommend it if you are shopping for daylilies again, maybe next season. Myself, I have a trip to the daylily farm scheduled for this week. I have a list of a few I will look for, but will probably end up bringing home the ones that catch my eye, rather than the ones on my list.
Jane Marie, Rose is right! Gardening has been so much more fun this year because I've had her to share it with. You and Lamb are lucky to have each other and sharing daylilies-doesn't get much better does it! Just how many do you have?! I won't tell, I promise. Lingering Loveliness is gorgeous as is Frills and Frances. I wish I could find a good ball to go to. I would invite soooo many to come home with me. Thank you for letting us attend the dance through you.
I enjoyed my time at the ball!
Cindy, I'm happy that you were able to visit so often.
Rose, you are truly blessed to have Beckie and I can tell she feels the same way too.
Karen, thanks for the update on Bela Lugosi. I almost bought it on Friday and held back a little. I might still get it, if the funds hold out. I'm like you, I go with a list and come home with totally different ones than planned BUT I did buy Trahlyta which I had planned on.
Beckie, last count I have 130 named daylilies and about 7 unnamed. Lamb will be giving me another 4. I only allow 1 plant per cultivar in my yard except for Miss Jessie and I plan to give away some of those extras.
Nancy, I'm glad that you had a good time ! That was the plan.
I really do hate to leave the ball, Jane Marie. 'Lingering Loveliness' is a beauty. 'Happy Trails' to all ... until next year ;)
Jane marie, this was a most amusing post - I liked it a lot! And I love your daylilies!
Karen mentioned Bela Lugosi, and this is one of the variety that I've got in my garden (I've only got a few). I agree with Karen: he's a beauty!

Jane Marie,
I am so sorry to see the partys over. You know what that means...
And thank you for your nice comment. I believe the first was Goodyear tires. The second was Cooper. Mustang Mike
The ballgowns with the frilly fancy edges are my very favorite!

Hi Jane Marie, I missed parts of the cotillion, but I must say it has been a wonderful party. You've opened my eyes to a whole world of daylilies I didn't know existed. Your garden is absolutely beautiful, and I've enjoyed the venue as much as I've enjoyed meeting all the invited guests.
