A Wet Day at the Daylily Cotillion

Hello friends, this is Jane Marie back at the Serendipity Gardens Cotillion or should I say flood. We had quite a downpour just as the guests were arriving, and we were so expecting another thrilling day. I'll do my best to introduce you to our wet and bedraggle party goers.

Joan Senior always arrives in perfect attire dressed in pristine white. What's your secret, Joan?

Midnight Magic will be our entertainment for this evening. A master illusionist, we should be able to see a lot of thrilling sites in the next few days.

Moses' Fire is a hottie! I'm sure all of the young girls will be fanning themselves in his presence.

Fairy Tale Pink took quite a beating. She is quite delicate and fragile and I believe her dress may have been ruined in the rain. I'll get the seamstress to help her out; by tomorrow, she'll be as good as new!

Karen Sue came prepared for a sock hop. She looks a little like she's dressed in her school colors. I guess she was misinformed as to the type of ball and attire requested.

It seems as though Caprician Fiesta thought he was going to a beach party. Doesn't anyone read their invitations?

Pink Super Spider cried when she realized I had taken her picture like this. (Who knew spiders had tears) I can understand it, though. She spent the whole year waiting for this day to arrive and now look! To be fair I'm going to post last year's dress until she can pull herself together.

It's seems as though, Pretty Woman was curled up, hiding from the raindrops. She's usually such a show off. It's always been hard for the other girls to be around such a beauty.

Farmer's Daughter can hold her own against any one of the upper class. The problem is there are always persistent rumors about her. I know they aren't true, but I keep hearing some of the gentlemen whisper, "Did you hear the one about the Farmer's Daughter?" I wish they would leave the poor thing alone!

Mount Helena waited until the sun came out. I guess sometimes it's good to be the last guest to show up. This is her first time at the ball and I must say it was worth the wait. She's beautiful!

Grandfather Time says it's time to go already. I suppose he's right. It's been a very wet and tiring day. I'm sure it will be much nicer tomorrow. Ta, Ta!

Your Lilies are even more beautiful in the rain. Please tell all the guests not to worry, the sun shall return soon, and they all can breathe a sigh of relief.

I'm sure the guests appreciate your encouragement, Becky, and I appreciate your regular comments. Thank you for the visits.

I was just saying how the reds all seem to be masculine, and your Moses' Fire is yet another one that follows the trend.

I love that Karen Sue! I'm going to have to track that one down somehow.

I would prefer to only take photos of the well-formed daylilies, but I also track first blooms, so sometimes I am stuck with something less than perfect. It's always nice to be reminded of what the flowers look like at their best, though.

I love to visit here and look at your daylilies, because you have some many different ones than mine. It's eye-candy, but it also gives me ideas for what to try and find.
