Snip - Snip! A New Burpee Giveaway!

Here it is! Just what I promised! The newest Burpee Giveaway!

Recently, I received a pair of Burpee Herb Snips, and I immediately put them to good use. I've used them in the garden to cut herbs --

-- and I've used them in the kitchen to snip herbs for recipes I am preparing. (You can find some of these recipes on my new blog, An Herbal Bedfellow)

You can see here that I cut herbs from the garden to start the drying process.

These snips are great! The blade is sharp (and never needs sharpening) and the balance is very good. The handle is coated for a comfortable fit in your hand. The blades come apart, and it is completely dishwasher safe. There's even an herb stripper built in for stripping those tiny leaves like thyme from the stems.

I don't know what more you could want except some Burpee Herb Snips for yourself. Can you believe it, I have 6 of these to giveaway! Retail value: $9.95.

All you have to do is --
1. Go to the Burpee website
2. Click on the Gardening Supplies tab
3 Tell me in the comment window which of their products is most interesting to you.
4. Leave your e-mail address like this : pianananna(at)gmail(dot)com (this way you won't be prey to that evil spam monster) or show a link to your website displaying your e-mail address. Double check your profile to see if your address is showing. I need to find you if you are a winner.
You will be disqualified if you do not follow these simple rules.

This contest ends on Monday July 7 at 12:00 EDT. Winners will be drawn at random. Good Luck!!!!

7/3/08 This just in: Place a $30.00 order at Burpee.com and receive $5.00 off with this special code for Thyme for Herb readers only!!!
Just type in coupon-code BTH1 at order checkout.

Thank you, Burpee!

I like the Burpee's Garden Hod - I am always trying to collect my peas in my kitchen bowls or my own hands and they are soon overflowing. This basket looks spacious AND it has the great bonus feature of being wire on the bottom so you can just run it under the facet to clean your veggies off without them getting waterlogged! Great idea! I do need the shears though - I just started an herb garden and have been resorting to use my craft scissors - gasp! ;)

I stopped at the Burpee site and what a find. I ordered the bean and pea tower for the climatis vine I've got growing out of a 5 gallon pot on the front patio. What a well of information on the Burpee site I found so many wonderful items and useful tooo. I have been thinking of some time about a raised garden and after finding the exact garden on the Burpee site I'm ready to try my hand at a raised garden this season if I hurry. thanks for pointing out such an amazing site..Pam

I think the pea and cucumber fence looks interesting. I have planted cucumbers for the first time this year and they are running everyone and I think harvesting will be challenging. The fence would really help!

I like the CobraHead weeder and cultivator. I've always wanted something like this, but those herb scissors are nice too. I really need a small pair of garden scissors for flowers and herbs, rather than taking my dull kitchen scissors out.

Jane Marie,
The cobrahead weeder/cultivator is the thing I'm lusting after!

I like the "Bye-Bye Birdie Reflective Tape." I'd love to be able to enjoy a few figs from my trees. As it is, I have to go out before the crack of dawn to get the ripe ones before the birds get at them. This stuff looks like it might do the trick. I'm willing to try anything.

This is so interesting, the Snap Bean Frencher; I had no idea such a thing existed! I remember sitting at the table with my grandmother as she taught me how to slick the beans.

Jane Marie, I have 2 finds both books. Of course one has to have the zuchinni receipe book, and even though I don't grow it any more I am given lots. The other was one about using household items in the garden to make it easier and more 'lovely'. Sounds interesting and fun. Speaking of fun these give-a-ways are a lot of fun. Thanks!
