My guests here at the Serendipity Garden are more than just daylilies to me. They are my reason for getting through July. I don't like hot sticky weather, but my lily friends do. They encourage me to go out in my garden every day instead of hiding in the air conditioning. I'm grateful to them for that. So I say to them, thank you for attending my ball.
Today, it was a bit cooler but then the clouds rolled in this afternoon and now we're having another rain. Luckily, I was able to catch these two party goers before the deluge started.

This is Over the Edge. Some say she dresses a little over the top but I think she's just fine. I love the way a ray of sunshine seemed to follow her around like a spotlight. As far as I'm concerned, she's the star of the show today.

Purple Storm always has a dark brooding look to his eye. But that can be quite deceptive, actually. The lavender/pink leads us to believe he has a lighter side.

What's this? Mrs. Chalmondeley, a Clematis, is lurking in the corner. I didn't notice her until this morning. I have no idea how long she has been there watching the arrivals. It's nice to know there is still some interest in the cotillion.
So until next time, this is Jane Marie. Have a good day.

Wow, I wish I could hold up in the heat as well as all your beautiful day lilies. Unfortunately, I feel like I wilt and prefer to stay in the AC too (I come out only at night & early AM's!)
Yes, the heat is no fun at all. I'm a spring and fall kinda girl :) Gorgeous daylily and I love the clematis too - looks very much like one I've been drooling over that's growing over a neighbors fence.
Maybe Mrs. Clematis was checking reservations..LOL
I don't do well in this heat either. We had rain this morning. It was a down-pour for about 5 minutes, then beautiful the rest of the day.
This evening it is down to 60ยบ
Over the Edge might be a little over the top but that's ok. I love garden show offs!
Over the Edge is wonderful! I love those bright colors.
Jane Marie I also stayed indoors avoiding the heat and then for some reason I decided to spend more time in the shady spots of my garden and all my worries of late are less of a burden...mother nature heals.Up until then I was waiting until dusk...
there is too much rain here as of late.
Your lilies are lovely..not a flower I must admit that I am fond of..the exotic type I love.
Clematis..always a constant in our gardens turning and twisting away!
Wishing you a lovely day in your garden! hugs NG
Lovely daylilies

I don't like heat either, but all your beautiful daylilies would make me want to venture outside whenever I could:)
Is the cotillion still going on? I wondered how many guests you had altogether.
Lovely daylilies, Jane Marie! Speaking of rain, we had over 4 inches at the lake last Thursday in a matter of a few hours ... much flooding but luckily we are high on a hill but driveway suffered deep channeling ruts. Returned home to find a huge storm damaged tree had fallen in neighbor's driveway ... Love this Michigan weather :)
I feel better knowing there are so many of you who are heat intolerant like I am. I always assumed I was a wimp and gardeners of all people should be able to tolerate the weather. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.
Rose and other cotillion followers, I am expecting a total of 123 guests this year that I know of, although they may not all appear since a few are new. There are about 7 that I can't identify, so I won't be showing them. Stay tuned for more updates. Thanks for watching.
