A Hansom Cab Nears!

This is Jane Marie, back to you from the Serendipity Garden Cotillion. This evening's events look exciting. There will a lot to report. And look, a hansom cab nears the red carpet. I'll see if I can get close enough to introduce you.

Meet Dark Star. (He's a bit of a brooding character for a celestial being.)

Blueberry Candy, known for her lovely blue eyes.

Vintage Bordeaux, direct to you from the vineyards in France. (I hope he brought us a case.)

Hyperion -- isn't she lovely? She's been to the ball many times before. In fact she has been attending balls like this one since 1924. She always wears a lovely perfume scented like lilies.

Atlanta Heart Stealer -- Some of the ladies won't approve of this one. She's likely to gain the attention of all of the gentlemen. She has a way about her that is similar to Scarlet O'Hara. Fiddle-dee-dee!

Barbara Mitchell -- Barbara's been attending since 1984. She's dressed beautifully as she is each year. Pink becomes hers, don't you think?

Charlemagne is regal as always. I wonder if he's met Imperial Lemon yet. Perhaps a bit of matchmaking is in order.

Charles Johnston has proven himself over time. He's been around since 1981, but as his parentage is unknown, I'm not sure how well he'll be received tonight.

And there you have it, except for one minor change. Previously, Lavender Dew presented herself as Raspberry Ice. I'm not sure how that happened, but she was given the wrong name tag with her invitation and she neglected to inform your host. She had a bit of fun for a while, but it was soon noticeable and the correction was made immediately. Naughty Girl!!

Stay tuned for the next updates when more guests arrive.

I love your "cotillion" Daylilies. The beautiful ladies and gentlemen are from an other world. Isn't it always a pleasure when they start flowering with their big variations in colours and textures etc. I am a big daylily fan. I just planted some as winter is a good time for it.

Such an awesome variety of beautiful daylilies Jane Marie.

I had 'hyperion' two houses ago. I really loved that sweet yellow one, and it bloomed well for me in only part sun.

Your day lily photos in this and the previous post are gorgeous. Thanks for allowing us a peep at the "cotillion" through your excellent photographs.

All beautiful! But Blueberry Candy, Atlanta Heart Stealer and Lavendar Dew steal the show! day lilies are our reward for putting up with the summer heat.

Oh my, your daylilies are beautiful! I have about a week before the big show starts in my garden. Right now, just a couple of mine are blooming here and there.

My Barbara Mitchell has bloomed (she gets around, doesn't she?) and I've got a Blueberry Candy somewhere.

I believe I really must buy a labelling system this year. I can't be sure what is where any more. I can so identify with the Lavender Dew/Raspberry Ice situation. It can be really difficult to identify daylilies properly, even when you have the tags.

This is turning into quite the affair of the year! Atlanta Heart Stealer would steal my heart, too. Perhaps if I build a new party area/outdoor ballroom I can entice some of these lovely ladies and gentlemen to join me next year.
