The Carriage is Here!

This is Jane Marie coming to you from the Happenstance House with news of the garden party of the season.

And, here it is, the carriage has just arrived. It's heavily loaded with six of the guests who've been invited to the Serendipity Garden Cotillion.

Let's see who's exiting first.

Oh my, it's Ancient Glow. She might be the oldest guest at the party, but she does live up to her name, now, doesn't she? She has the glow of one who has done this before many times and is proud to be a part of it all.

Buddha is one of the many "foreign" guests. He's traveled a long way just to take part in this gathering. We can see that he had to brave the elements just to be here. I'm sure it doesn't bother him at all; he is, after all, enlightened. We're just glad to have him.

Another guest from a faraway place is Russian Rhapsody. I'm so glad he came. He's always been one of my favorites; you know what I think of a good rhapsody.
Quick, hide the vodka!!

Oh,oh. Chorus Line came straight from the theater. That might not have been wise. Her dress is rather short, and her legs are long. I'm not sure but she might not be welcomed by some of the "upper crust." I think she's rather cute, though, and as long as she knows her place, she'll probably do fine.

And here she is, the Queen herself, Imperial Lemon. Her bright frock tends to clash with the others, but I guess it doesn't matter when you're royalty. I think she rather enjoys that about herself.

Well, now, here's trouble! It's Ruby Spider! Besides being one of the largest at the cotillion, he knows the Queen has arachnophobia. Maybe this is one night he should have stayed home. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

It looks like the carriage has emptied. I'll have more for you from the red carpet when the next group of guests arrive.

Until then, this is Jane Marie at Serendipity Garden.

You have quite a lot of royalty here! I hope you have enough red carpet for all your guests:)

I'm so happy daylily season has begun. That big spider isn't actually looking very spidery, but it's HUGE. I love that Buddha -- oh, and Russian Rhapsody is one I have, but mine is nowhere near blooming yet. That yellow looks just like my Grecian Gown (a good name for a daylily going to a ball). Alas, we've had too much cloudy weather here. I'm still waiting for my season to begin. Luckily I can enjoy yours. :)

And what beauties they are, dressed in their finest. I can almost hear the rustle of taffeta...

The ball is drawing all of the best. Chorus line is such a beautiful color, as is Imperial Lemon. Ruby Spider clearly is the show stealer though!

Those scissors in last post are the greatest! What a great idea to use the clothes hanger for dryer herbs!!
