If you've kept up with this blog for any length of time, you know that I have a garden hat collection, so when Burpee asked me to host another giveaway, I was thrilled to discover that this time I would be giving away hats!
I've had a chance to wear mine for a few days now. I am pleased to say that I may have finally found a baseball cap style that really fits my small head. Instead of those snap type adjustments in the back, this hat has a sliding buckle and the excess slips into an opening in the seam, so there's no bulk or excess flap looking like a tail. I'm embarrassed to tell you how much I had to adjust it to keep it on this little head. Does that also mean I have a small brain, too? Well, let's move on!

I also like the smaller brim. Remember how I mentioned previously about looking like a duck? Not the case with this hat.
Each of the hats have different designs and are in different colors. They are made of 100% cotton -- a soft twill. Mine has the Burpee flower emblem on the hat part itself and the word "Burpee" on the brim. It's not screen printed, it's actual embroidery. Very classy looking.

I told Burpee that I would review their hat but I would not compromise my opinion. I wanted to give a truthful appraisal and not be swayed by the free gifts. But there was no reason for me to worry; Burpee came through with a top quality product again. I rate this hat a 10.
If you would like to enter to win one of four hats, please follow the instructions carefully.
1. Go to the Burpee website; click on the "perennial flowers" tab. Then leave a comment telling me about your favorite flower shown or listed there and tell my why you like it. Answers showing just the name of a flower will not be considered. Entries stating only, "enter me" or something like it will also not be considered.
2. Make sure your name and e-mail address is showing. Either show a link that will take me to your address, or type it like this: pianananna(at)gmail(dot)com. That will keep the spammers away. After you are notified, you have three days to claim your prize.
3. Winners and hat colors will be chosen at random on Friday, June 20th at noon. If the winner selected does not claim their prize, the next winner is chosen on comment originality.
Thank you, Burpee, for this fun contest.
Thank you Contest Girl and
thanks to Online Sweepstakes for hosting this giveaway.

I love the Columbine Swan (Burgandy & White) because it is beautiful and I love the colors. This flower really stands out! Thank you for the giveaway!
My Hydrangea 'Nikko Blue' is one of the most beautiful plants I have. It's a plant that is consistently healthy and easy to care for and absolutely striking year after year.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Don't forget to leave your e-mail address or a link to it.
Columbine Blackcurrent Ice - This looks like a pretty variety. I love columbines. They come back so well, and frankly, I like the shape of the leaves as much as the flowers.
One of my favorite perennials is Gaillardia 'Goblin'. I have found that it is very dependable as far as surviving the northern Illinois winter to flower most of the summer. When some perennial flowers start to decline, you are left with a not too good looking plant. In my opinion, Gaillardia seedheads are ornamental so deadheading is not on the top of my to-do list!

My favorite is the Rose colored Foxglove Camelot because it is a beautiful color and the shape is interesting.
I like the Pink Swirl Hibiscus. That is a beautiful flower and my turtle loves to eat Hibiscus.
My fave is the Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm'. It is such a pretty flower. The yellow is sunny and cheerful, it is easy to grow and it blooms for months.

Awww, we wanted to see a picture of you wearing your hat. :)
Daylilies are one of my favorites. They're easy to grow and make a great showing. Beautiful green plant and very nice flowers.
Any columbine. My late neighbor gave me one but the rabbits got it this year.

I am an avid gardener and asking me to pick my favorite Burpee perennial is like asking me to pick my favorite child! But since I have to pick one, I choose Echinacea Sunrise. I love all coneflowers and I do not have this one yet. I also love it's soft yellow color.

Lavender Lady is my favorite ... such a beautiful deep blue, plus the luscious scent. I plant mine near the entryway so I'm always greeted by it. Not only does it smell wonderful, but the blue stands out against the red brick of my house.

I love Shasta Daisies, don't know why, I just do. My desk top has been shasta daisies for years.
My absolute favorite is the my scabiosa butterfly blue. It is such a beautiful plant. I think it is wonderful how it attracts butterflies. I have always been really fond of butterflies too. Thanks for this fabulous giveaway!
I've always been drawn to Hydrangeas. I just think they're beautiful. They can be very dramatic or very simple; it's fun to experiment with the soil to achieve different shades; and they look great fresh or dried.

A favorite of mine is Penstemon 'Husker Red' (found at the Burpee site under Other Perennials). It is a reliable grower that needs little tending, and comes up a fantastic shade of purple with a green base. Once the flower stalks shoot up and the little white flowers open, it becomes a show-stopper. I have one in each porch pot, along with lime-green sweet potato vines, so it's the first thing guests see. Thanks and see my google id for email.
They onbly have the blue hydrangea, which I love, and you can affect the color, even changing it to pink by alkanalizing the soil. I like hydrangea because they are so easy to grow, blue is such an unusual color in the world of flora and they come in white and various shades of pink and a deep fuscia which is striking mixed with the deep blue. They flower long with giant flowers!
My favorite is
Hollyhock Country Romance Mix, because I started growing hollyhocks with my grandmother when I was very young and they always make me think of her.
Thanks for a fun contest!

My favorite (Primrose) is not on the list. I love it because It's one of the first flowers of spring and look very impressive enmass.
I see several commenters have also picked one of my favorites ~ Lavender Lady. I had only one of the plants until this year when I planted three more. I love the blooms and fragrance. Thank you for the giveaway
Geranium- Rozanne. My grandmother used to grow something similar, and it reminds me of her.

Jane Marie, I'm not going to enter this time since I won last time. But I just wanted you to know I received my new Burpee clogs this afternoon. They're a perfect fit and look too pretty to get dirty in the garden (but I will!). Thanks again.
By the way, your clematis is a beautiful color.
Daisies. I'm not sure why but they've always been my favorite flower.
Gaillardia 'Goblin'
Jane Marie, That clematis is gorgeous! Such an unusual color. I went to Burpee's site and of course had to go to cone flowers. I have been wanting a 'Sunrise' or 'Sunset' Maybe not excatly my favorite flower(who can decide that?) but definately a contender. Thanks for the fun contests!
Hibiscus is one of my favorites. I have red, pink & peach. When I lived in Michigan I had a peach one that I planted in a large pot. During the winter I brought the plant in and put it in my west window. I was able to enjoy the beautiful flower year round.

I really love the Oriental Poppy mix. I have some poppies in my garden, and they're one thing that does well for me. But they are all the basic poppy red color, and it would be nice to add some other colors.
Thanks for another great giveaway!

I really like that new echinacea.
I like them because they remind me of sunflowers. We are growing sunflowers at our farm this year, and I planted some echinacea, but they didn't survive. It has been so hot and dry here, and we don't go to the farm every day.
Email kayroney(at)gmail(dot)com.
Monarda Bergamo. This plant sent me off on a wonderful research adventure. The name made me think of "bergamot" the orange used to flavor Earl Grey tea. I learned that Monarda is also known as Bergamot. One story I read said the early colonists used it to make tea to replace their beloved Earl Grey. I love plants with H/history!
Oriental Poppies---because they remind me of Grandma's garden.
Daylilies because they so take care of themselves. The dwarf "Little Business" look adorable.
I like the Dicentra- spectabilis-
Old-fashioned 'bleeding heart'. My grandmother had them in her yard. I think I'll order some to remember her by.
I would have to say the oriental poppies
Hydrangea 'Nikko Blue' i like the music on your site.
I'd love to have that deep purple Nanho Butterfly Bush in my garden.
The way the butterflies come to the pink one I have makes buddleia one of my favorites.
What a fun giveaway!
Thanks for hosting it.
I just love daylillies
Oriental Poppies; the color is great ( although they do not last long ).

I really like the Columbine Blackcurrent Ice.
I really like tulips. When I was a child, my parents didn't plant flowers but we were given a tulip bulb and every spring that tulip would come up. Now one of my sons sends me tulips on special occasions.
Thanks for this giveaway. What a pretty hat. My favorite is the Butterfly Bush Attraction. I love the butterflies and hummingbirds and really enjoy it when they come to these bushes
