Bright and Colorful Saturday

It hasn't been too bright and colorful here weather wise, but we had a few hours break from the rain yesterday so I managed to get these two pictures. (Today is a bright and beautiful day) This is Red Cardinal clematis, it's just starting to bloom. It should be around for a few weeks to brighten up the side of the garage. It's a little wet, but it seems happy enough.

And of course, Johnson's Blue, cransebill geranium. It always gets so big. I didn't get it staked early enough and had to tie it with twine after it had fallen over. It will straighten out again shortly.
I love these two colors together. They are not planted near each other but maybe they should be. (note to self -- think about moving the geranium)

That clematis is gorgeous. I was wondering the other day what kind of geranium I had. After seeing your photos I'm pretty sure it's Johnson's Blue. I didn't realise it needed staking and noticed it looks pretty floppy just now.

Jane Marie what a gorgeous clematis ! beautiful pictures .. inbetween the showers .. our weather is very "hormonal" ? LOL right now too .. heat and humidity and a wee bit of rain ..
I have been harvesting herbs as well .. the dill, parsley .. soon some sage and rosemary .. I love those scents while handling them : ) .. nothing like some herbs to lift your spirits !

Oh, I hear Peepers. Love the sounds !
The Clematis are just beauriful. I only have a white one. My purple one didn't survive the winter.

A very unusual color for clematis, but stunning. I have a small purple and white one that hasn't bloomed in 2 years. Maybe I need to move it.

Have been missing you, Jane Marie, and hope your weather has been not as nasty as ours on this side of the state. Finally, power back on after a horrid week of storms. I simply allow my Johnson's Blue cransebill geraniums to wander and then give them a 'good haircut' when finished.

Lovely Clematis, and so well named.

Johnson's Blue is one of my all time favourites, but then I love Hardy Geraniums anyway.

Best Wishes,

Zoë

What a delightful blog you have! I just love everything about it. The beautiful picture of snapdragons and petunias grabbed me immediately! They are two of my favorite flowers. The music bar with all of the different selections is wonderful. So nice to hear my beloved classical music as I read. The Burpee hat IS very pretty compared to other hats I've seen. And you've got lots of very beautiful flowers and herbs also. I liked the pictures of your herb garden and could recognize the fennel right a way. I have some growing right under my window and every year it draws all of the little insects. Such a neat plant. I had to laugh reading about how you had trouble getting up after being on the ground. Sounds soooo familiar....
