I was at a car show last weekend and there was a firetruck on display with it's 100 ft. ladder extended with an aerial water tower bucket. It was amazing to look up and realize that firemen go up these things regularly to save lives. The clouds were moving fast, and I was dizzy even though I was on the ground. I can't imagine actually being up there.

Here's a closer shot of the bucket. It looks like a good place to get pictures of birds and other people's secret gardens!

Huge ladder that is ... the top of it would be a good place to be sky watching! :)
Wow - that's way too high for me - I'd be terrified.

What a great picture it makes for Sky Watch as well.. I am sat here listening to the most beautiful classical music.... so peaceful on such a hectic day... I will rest here a while and make tea and eat biscuits.. :O)
I'm not sure I could handle a ride in that thing! If you do, you will have some magnificent photos!
I used to work for a tree trimming company; they didn't use a bucket like that- one of the guys would climb up into the tree with a chain saw. One time I was watching him on a slightly windy day when he was in a particularly tall tree. The customer came out to see what I was looking at, took one look up and saw how the tree was moving and went running back into the house! I think she may have gotten sick ;)
Wow - better than a carnival ride I bet!
Lovely sky image.
Excellent perspective.
Hi Jane Marie - thanks so much for visiting me today :)
I don't think you could pay me *anything* to go up in that bucket!!
Cool shots! :)
Neat!! I would love to go to the top of that.
Oh no. I fear heights so. Looks like a nightmare to me. But you're right. A wonderful vantage point to see gardens. If you could get over your fear long enough to actually look!

I never would go up in that one for sure:/
LOL!
Great shots!

I wouldn´t go there. Maybe to take some photos...but I´m not so sure. Thanks for the idea!
The only thing worse than going up there would be getting stuck up there. Such dramatic shots.
Good on ya, brave firefighters.
Nice Skywatch photos but I may have to come back and get some of these recipes. I love cooking with herbs and want to grow some of the ones I use the most. If I need help can I ask you?
