The weather has been cooperating, with days that warm up to the 50s and 60s; the blooms are popping. This is the Siberian Bugloss, or Brunerra Macrophylla. It seems to be bluer than ever. This particular plant loves being next to the pond.

Another blue favorite of mine, Cornflower, Mountain Bluet, Perennial Bachelor's Button, Centaurea Montana -- whatever you want to call it, it is a knockout.

The peonies are starting to open, but not quite there. Where are the ants? Maybe it's too cold at night. Our furnace is still running. We've had nights in the 20s!

This is a shot from the top of the hill looking down toward the ponds and main garden. You can see lots of green and my anticipation is running high.

And last, but not least, a lonely columbine that decided to hide behind the wheel. A shy wallflower?

I love the pond .. I so wish i could have one too .. I'll have to visit yours as often as possible. I know what you mean about waiting for the flowers to pop .. and the cool nights .. we have had our gas fireplace on at times .. weird weather eh ?
Beautiful pictures .. and the shy Bleeding Heart is perfect behind the wheel !

Hi Again, I am going to link you on my side bar so I don't miss your posts. The search party is forming.

Love the blue! I haven't seen a crn flower in a long time. I swear that wheel could be up against my garage- the paint is in the same condition as mine.
Your pond is lovely. It seems we have a lot of the same plants blooming at exactly the same time. Your peonies look just like mine; same with the back buttons and forget me nots. Very cool. Love your music here, too. :)

I LOVE the picture of the ponds and main garden! Please post a picture when it's blooming!
Great shots Jane Marie! Your gardens are beautiful!! Cornflowers remind me of my childhood in NFLD, were they grow wild. They have the most wonderful smell!
